The Top Fantasy Players for 2008
This list is always up to date up until the regular season games actually begin. The rankings reflect our staffs latest combined rankings.

Show Only: ALL | QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DEF

Rank Player Name Pos Notes
Tomlinson, LaDainian RB The greatest single fantasy football season in 2006, hopefully the new coaching staff allows him to continue.
Peterson, Adrian RB Wow! What an amazing rookie year. With the great Oline, look for a similar performance, if not better. Better QB play would help his numbers tremendously.
Westbrook, Brian RB They always say they want to run more, but eventually it comes down to Westbrook. He should have a career year now that Morningway is calling the plays.
Addai, Joseph RB He is the No 1 man in Indy, all by himself. Should continue to build on last year. Now that he knows the protections, can stay on the field for more downs.
Brady, Tom QB Moss stuck around. Look for another amazing year out of these two.
Jackson, Steven RB Injuries held him back. When healthy, he is a beast.
Moss, Randy WR More records this year?
Portis, Clinton RB Look for another productive year.
Owens, Terrell WR No 1 in touchdowns last year, can he continue with Romo?
Grant, Ryan RB What a great find for GB. Finally, a RB that can run behind that line. With Favre gone, and Rodgers playing well, Grant should be a monster.
Johnson, Larry RB If healthy should be back to a top ten back. The QB situation should be improved and hopefully the running game will get back to form.
Barber III, Marion RB Scores a lot of fantasy points.
Gore, Frank RB Struggled last year, look for a rebound.
Wayne, Reggie WR Does very well acros from Harrison. Addai now understands the protections, so they can pass more.
Manning, Peyton QB This is where he belongs, but someone will draft him as the 11 or 12 overall pick. Don't overpay! Protection issues are really affecting his play.
McGahee, Willis RB Is he really the top RB in the NFL? We'll have to see. He is the sure starter and that explains his ranking.
Bush, Reggie RB Sometimes electrifying, sometimes flat. McAllister is back and playing very well. Keep an eye on preseason performance and usage.
Johnson, Rudi RB What is happening in Cincy? Fairly ineffective last year. Watson took over while Rudi was injured.
Lynch, Marshawn RB Did well last year. Should only get better. New off field issues. Has trouble running NFL style.
Edwards, Braylon WR Wow! But can they do it again? What an offense.
Fitzgerald, Larry WR Love this guy. Should be one of the top 3 or 4 WRs.
James, Edgerrin RB If Wisenhunt and Grimm can't teach the line how to block and establish the run, no one can. Hopefully, James will bounce back. So far looking pretty weak in preseason.
Jones, Julius RB If he can fend off Barber III he should excel. With TO and Glenn spreading the field he should have less 8 man fronts.
Jones-Drew, Maurice RB Had a great year. Let's see what he can do.
Houshmanzadeh, TJ WR Did great opposite Chad last year. Should be a top 20 WR.
Campbell, Jason QB Will start, let's see what he can do.
Gates, Antonio TE Still finished first, even with a new QB. Should still be No 1 in the NFL for TEs.
Harrison, Marvin WR The emergence of Wayne has lead to a dropoff for Harrison, but still a top 35 player. But he still finished first last year.
Maroney, Laurence RB Brady and his new WRs in NE may have NE going toward more of a passing attack. He will closeout games in the 4th quarter.
McAllister, Deuce RB Playing better than Bush against tougher defenses. They will probably split carries evenly. Looks like a strong tough runner.
Smith, Steve WR Offense was pathetic last year. New WRs to help out. The running game really needs to pick it up. Watch preseason closely to see if the offense is back to 2005 form.
Johnson, Chad WR Should do extremely well. All starters returning. Could be the No 1 WR this year, but you never know. He was targetted fewer times than Housh.
Holt, Tory WR Should have another great year with Bulger at the helm.
Parker, Willie RB Still the starter in Pit for now, or will it be Mendenhall? Would be top 5 back if not for Rashard. Too risky.
Palmer, Carson QB Looks ready to rock and roll!
Brees, Drew QB Amazing year down in NO. Top offense in the league.
Lewis, Jamal RB Not sure what his role in Cle will be. Watch preseason, he is the presumed starter for now.
Graham, Earnest RB Will he get the starting roll or is Caddy back on a roll, watch preseason closely.
Brown, Ronnie RB New coaching staff again. Played well against weak rush defenses. Healthy now. See what happens. Quite a talented runner.
Jones, Kevin RB Marinelli and Martz. Still not running between the tackles and scared to take a hit.
Williams, Roy WR Great numbers for Williams and Kitna last year!
Benson, Cedric RB Finally the lone starter in Chicago. Can he stay healthy? Keep an eye on him. Get the back up!
Boldin, Anquan WR ARI passing game is lights out, while the running game still struggles. He didn't even play a full season last year and was awesome!
Jacobs, Brandon RB Is he the new No 1 guy in NY with the retirement of Tiki? Watch preseason and camp very closely.
Driver, Donald WR Thinks they can go to big dance, still not retiring. The emergence and health of Jennings will cut into his production, but damn he can catch!
Colston, Marques WR Rookie phenom. Difficult to replicate those kind of numbers. Still worth a pick at this point.
Johnson, Andre WR New QB in town, should improve from last year.
Jones, Thomas RB The one and only RB in NY now. Should have a terrific year.
Johnson, Calvin WR Kitna put up some great numbers last year. With a reenforced O-line and some RB help with Tatum, the Detroit passing game should be tops once again. Look for Calvin to put up serious numbers.
McNabb, Donovan QB Always finishes in the top 2 or 3 of QBs. Healthy and ready to get back to 2004 numbers.
Burress, Plaxico WR Could be a top 5 WR.
Young, Selvin RB Worth taking a shot at here. The starter for now. Added some bulk in the offseason.
Gonzalez, Tony TE Best blocking TE this year! They need an extra blocker with O-line losses.
Betts, Ladell RB Al Saunders loves him. Even with Portis healthy. Should do well.
Chambers, Chris WR The move to St. Louis is a great one. Miami was just awful.
Taylor, Fred RB Finally healthy and looking pretty good.
Ward, Hines WR Not a top flight receiver yet. Recovering from his 2006 injuries. Is still the No 1 guy in Pitt. Look for decent top 50 numbers.
Stewart, Johnathan RB New starter in Carolina?
Walker, Javon WR Clearly the No 1 in Denver, but the emergence of Marshall and signing of Stokely may impact his touches. And it looks like Shanahan wants to utilize the running game more.
Moss, Santana WR A lot of weapons around him. Can he repeat?
Bears, Chicago DEF Looking great once again. Keep an eye on preseason and Briggs situation.
Coles, Laveranues WR He is their only WR, and looks very good. Pennington loves him!

Rhodes, Dominic RB Back home.
Kitna, Jon QB Put up top 10 QB numbers last year.
Henry, Chris RB Very fast RB. Can he stay healthy and take over in Tennesee?

Brown, Reggie WR Still McNabb's No 1 even with Stallworth.
Romo, Tony QB Has awesome targets to throw to. Needs to be more consistent. Looking really good so far. Electrifying offense.
Roethlisberger, Ben QB New staff, let's see what happens. New offense under Arians looks wide open and very pass friendly. May be the steal of the draft at QB. Looks like a lot of downfield throwing.
